A lot of science is overly complicated, because a complicated expression of an idea is much easier to formulate than a simple one.
Pick a point along the hyperbolic trajectory outside the particle on the left. Take the slope at that point. The sine (vertical component) is the “velocity of spacetime” towards the particle. The cosine (horizontal component) is the Lorentzian alpha factor contraction of space and time.
