M-Day +55
55 years ago last night, the evening of 20 July 1969, we achieved peak Western Civilization.
Neal Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot upon the moon, while Michael Collins fretted overhead.
And we were already past the peak in some ways. It was energy already in the system that carried us to the moon landings. The peak in power, creativity and vision was likely in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
I reserve the right to remove egregiously profane or abusive comments, spam, and anything else that really annoys me. Feel free to agree or disagree, but let's keep this reasonably civil.
